Taxotere is a chemotherapy drug widely used to treat cancer, particularly breast cancer. While it has been effective in fighting cancer, many patients have experienced severe side effects after taking the drug. Two of the most significant issues linked to Taxotere are permanent hair loss and eye damage. These side effects have prompted thousands of lawsuits against the drug’s manufacturer, Sanofi.
Many plaintiffs claim Sanofi failed to provide adequate warnings about the potential for permanent side effects, leaving patients unaware of the risks they were taking. Since 2016, courts have consolidated more than 12,000 hair loss and eye damage lawsuits into multidistrict litigation (MDL). The courts have heard bellwether trials to determine how future cases might play out, but litigation is ongoing. Law firms representing affected individuals are working to hold the company accountable and seek compensation for their clients.
